W3CP2 = The Will of God
How does this peace play out in our lives? How do we identify this peace and apply it to finding the will of God in our lives? When we come to Christ we have peace with God. Romans 5:1 We have access to his daily peace in our daily lives. So this peace plays out in our lives in various ways. One way is Luke 1:79 “To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death (salvation), to guide our feet into the way of peace (daily walk as a Christian).” Once we have access to God through the peace purchased for us by Christ, we now have available to us the guidance of God’s peace. This peace becomes the inner compass of our soul and continually sets us “at one again” in this world filled with tribulation. Another way this peace plays out in our lives is Colossians 3:15 “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”
Stop fretting and let his peace rule in your heart. Either you’re driving or he is driving. Take your choice. How will you recognize God’s peace if you don’t let go of your will and let him rule? Our camp simply runs by faith and it has been a very tight financial year. I had been praying for money for various needs. We needed $2,500 for a new stove. At the Thanksgiving association dinner we received the money needed. Next year we will be able to purchase the much needed convection oven. I had been praying for months for the need in our operations budget at our youth camp. We always seem to go hand to mouth, God’s hand and our mouth. I didn’t ask anyone for money. I prayed and felt assured that God has never failed us and had his peace that he would provide.
I came into my office after Thanksgiving and as I opened the mail there was a check for $5,000 made out to the camp. I saw the zeros and got excited and looked at the written amount “five thousand and no cents.” A note with it said “to use this for anything you need at the camp.” What a blessing!
How does this peace play out in our lives? We wrestle in prayer with God, present our requests, seek his will and then we wait for him to answer in his way and his timing. Then he grants us his peace as a down payment of the answer. Amid our struggles, searching and tribulation, God will grant to our souls his peace and we are now one with his will and find rest in him. “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
