Late walks at night, early in the morning, or at sunset can be a great way to find the door to his throne room. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork (Psalm 19:1). The vastness of his creation, his attention to detail, his abundance of color and purpose and how all creation works to sustain our existence humbles me. I guess I often start by lifting up my eyes unto the hills. This begins to take my eyes off my troubles. Although I am still looking through the eyes of loneliness, I begin to look at his majesty and not my sources of loneliness.
His Stillness and Silence
Jesus never spoke to Peter in the courtyard. There is power in his stillness and great silence. His silence will strip me to bare bones within the joy of approval or to my knees of confession or through pouring out my heart before the God of all creation.
